What You Deserve

A good hairdresser/beautician unfortunately is not easy to find.  Hairdressers come 10 a penny but how do you know it’s a good one, here are some top tips on how to find one.1.     When you walk into the salon it should be clean, tidy, professional but friendly.2.     A member of staff should approach you immediately, take your details and offer you a refreshment and magazines.3.     The member of staff should then make you stylist/therapist aware that you are there .4.     The stylist should then come over, introduce themselves and give you an estimated waiting time.5.     Once your stylist/beautician is free you will be asked to put on a gown and if you would like a refreshment.6.     Once the stylist/therapist is free you will have a consultation with them (1^st time visit) they will want to know if you’re busy etc this will give them an indication of what your home life is and how much time you have to spend on yourself.  Remember do not answer any questions you are uncomfortable with this is just to get an overview of your life.7.     The stylist/therapist will look at you a lot he/she is just a taking your face/head shape, base tones into consideration.8.     There should be no process started until both parties are happy and well informed.

As I am typing this blog, in the background a chat show called Jeremy Kyle Show is on.  Again it’s another paternity test, the ex and the girlfriend seems to be at each others throat.  The guy involved is not even that handsome, where do they get these people.  The DNA test has just said that he is not the father and now the ex is sure now who is the father.  Why do women put themselves in this position, all it does is upset them and no doubt the child involved.  Come on ladies, we are the superior sex and it is us that keep those men on the straight and narrow.

These are real people with real lives, it is alright for us to watch the TV have a laugh switch it off and go about our normal lives.  These people can’t switch off they are living it.

Ladies you might not have made the right decisions but you continualy show strength of character I hope it all works out for you if you find yourself in a similar situation.

Hair

It does more than keep your head warm.

 Hair can show a quiet, confident, trendy etc. Person.  The colours you can get nowadays are exceptional, but also remember get advice because skin tone and lifestyle plays a big part, instead of complimenting you it can go horribly wrong.  Each person is a individual and therefore will suit different things.  Have a good look at yourself in the mirror, notice your colour of hair especially base tones ( (the actual colour black, brown. Red, blonde) then notice the natural highlights (best seen in daylight) Hair is made from the 4 basic pigments Black, brown, red, blonde whatever pigment you have most of is your all over colour.  Highlights you will notice more at the front, hair is always that bit lighter at the front because of the elements.  Now that you have got that sorted out what colour should you go for.

A major change blonde – black this be a disaster if not done right.  You have to use red pigment to avoid it turning green “not pretty” and the same vice versa.

Any colour can be achieved if you have got the confidence to try it and a change is as good as a holiday so go for it.  Some people you have to strip the colour out of the hair completely in order to get the desired result.

1. Hair come under the fast growing cell category, it does not stop keeps on going as long as you do that is how when receiving chemotherapy it falls out.  Chemotherapy targets fast growing cells like cancer in order to stop them and unfortunately stop the hair cells too but still a small price to pay because it usually grows back in.

Cosmetology explained

You have you hairdresser some which are very good and unfortunately some who are very bad.  Qualified hairdressers cut, perm, colour, style and are basically your confidante.  Beauticians on the other hand manicure, pedicure, give facials, wax and again are your confidante.

Cosmetology incorporates the 2 but cosmetologists have to know anatomy, contra indications of certain treatments, We can do various massages and I have also been blessed with healing capabilities, the chemical reactions that happens during procedures etc and of course your confidante but anything you tell a cosmetologist is sacred we have signed the official secrets act so you will always be secure in the knowledge whatever you say will not go any further.

We are not doctors and cannot help you with medical procedures.  We can advise you best course of action if it includes anything that we can do for you.  It is only advice though always back it up with your doctor.

Cosmetologists want the best for you we will not sell you any lotions or potions because the human race is so diverse you are already using the right cream etc.  The stuff we use can only be used by trained professionals.

We can advise on skin conditions, hair conditions, skin and hair procedures, make-up and maintenance to name but a few.  You can be secure in the knowledge that you are in good hands we want the best for you and you alone.  Cosmetologist’s love the human form and are always amazed at the way it can heal it’s self.  You will always have a good friend someone you can talk to, confide in and lean on.

Exfoliating It’s Important

I have a daughter who is 12 and I am trying to teach her the importance of exfoliating.  I am going to give you quick paragraphs why this should be done, I will try to use as little terminology as possible so everybody gets the benefit of this blog.

When boys and girls are hitting puberty the hair starts to get oily (greasy), their bodies start to perspire a lot (BO body odour) and spots, zits, plukes, pimples and acne start appearing on their skin not forgetting their attitude seems to deteriorate.  We cannot stop this it is all part of growing up.  This is when it is really important to exfoliate.  Biology Lesson:-

Your sebaceous glands are under your skin and do a very important job they keep your skin from drying out too quickly, but during puberty they go into over-drive they produce lots and lots of sebum (oil grease) we have pores so it can drain away no problem.  Your skin also has layers the top layer is dead and it will disappear into the air you will them see it as dust on your furniture etc.  The body is really well designed that way self maintaining.

During puberty the sebum (oil grease) production is accelerated a lot and therefore the sebum is trapped in the pore below the top layer of skin.  It is then a foreign body and your skin inflames and produces puss in order to get rid of it.  You have acne not pretty but you don’t have to put up with it.

Everybody should exfoliate weekly it’s helping your body get rid of dead skin, during puberty get a light exfoliator twice a week and it should keep your acne to a minimum, that along with plenty of fruit and vegetables and drinking plenty of water should keep you all looking georgous.

As for the attitude “sorry can’t help you there”

All the spot remedies out there are rubbish all they do is dry up your skin exaggerate the problem so you have to use their products more so you have to buy more, that’s why it is called the beauty business.  Skin goes through oily stages for a reason why buy things to stop the oil production and interfere with mother nature.  Spots are a product of excess oil and hormone change your body is talking to you….LISTEN

Autumn’s Ending

As we wait for winter to start,Autumn’s ending about to depart,Winter clothes, a scarf and a hat,Snowy boots sitting on the mat,Heating up the in front of the fire,Listen to carols sung by the choir, 

Christmas is coming I really can’t wait,Party’s starting early finishing late,The best time of the year is nearly here,Drinking mead wine whisky and beer,Family visit it is really great,Unfortunately even the ones you hate,

To Wax Or Not To Wax
This is question on many lips, waxing is a lot less work as it take the hair out from the root at usually lasts at least 4 weeks, there is a down side though PAIN the first wax is usually the worst as the hairs that you are pulling out have been there since birth and they are well cemented in. Consecutive waxes are not as sore. You have to prepare your skin well to reduce the risks of ingrown hair, well prepared skin will reduce time, pain, and the results will be great.
Exfoliate the skin area to be waxed, this is to reduce the need for going over the same area because all you have taken off is a couple of hairs and the top layer of dead skin cells.
Wax should be put on in the direction of the hair growth or the wax strip applied in the direction of the hair growth.
This is the part you need courage for, you then grab the strip securely in your hand and pull off against the hair growth (the opposite way that you put it on) its not the most pleasent experience in the world but hey that’s you for at least 4 weeks.
After you have done the whole area apply an after wax cream I use on with Aloe Vera and remember no baths or showers for 8 hour as your pores are opened.
